Daily Light Integral Influences Rooting of Herbaceous Stem-tip Culinary Herb Cuttings

چکیده

Domestic production of culinary herbs continues to increase in the United States. Culinary are primarily propagated by seed; however, some have poor germination rates and slow growth. Thus, there advantages propagating vegetative stem-tip cuttings as they lead true-to-type plants a shortened time. Previous research ornamental young finished shown reduction rooting time increases plant quality with photosynthetic daily light integral (DLI). To our knowledge, little no has addressed how DLI influences herb liner quality. Therefore, objectives this study were quantify morphological traits five economically important when grown under DLIs ranging from 2.8 16.4 mol·m −2 ·d −1 . Stem-tip Greek oregano ( Origanum vulgare var. hirtum ), rosemary ‘Arp’ Rosmarinus officinalis sage ‘Extrakta’ Salvia spearmint ‘Spanish’ Mentha spicata thyme ‘German Winter’ Thymus vulgaris ) excised stock rooted shade or aluminum shading 36%, 56%, 76% create range treatments. After 9 days (spearmint) 16 (all other genera) treatments, root, shoot, total dry mass all liners generally increased 105% 449%, 52% 142%, 82% 170%, respectively, genus-specific optimums. Stem length oregano, spearmint, decreased 37%, 28%, 27%, However, stem unaffected DLI. The index genera was greatest at 10.4 Furthermore, ≤6 had low root shoot accumulation; taller. between 10 12 should be maintained during propagation, because ≥16 may deleterious energy inefficient if supplemental lighting use is increased.

2 , 4 - Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid soaking promotes rooting in stem tip cuttings of Hypericum p向foratum

Rooting and shoot growth were evaluated on stem tip cuttings of砂pencumpe功ratum receiving various auxin soaking treatments. Five-cm-Iong stem tips (0.08 g fresh weight in average) were soaked in IAA, 1 BA, NAA and 2,4-D solutions at 5, 25 , 125μM for 10 min, and then placed in a rockwool block for three weeks. A deionized water soaking treatment was served as a control. The results indicated tha...

Proteomic Analysis through Adventitious Rooting of Pinus radiata Stem Cuttings with Different Rooting Capabilities

In forest production systems, vegetative propagation of elite clones through adventitious rooting is a common practice. In Chile, adventitious rooting is the main methodology for vegetative reproduction of Pinus radiata. However, the capability of produce adventitious roots in gymnosperms decreases with aging. While it is true that some efforts have been made to identify markers or/and regulato...

Relation between leaf and stem biochemical constituents and rooting ability of olive cuttings

The relationships between rooting potential with endogenous phenolic compounds, nitrogen and soluble carbohydrates of cuttings for five olive cultivars (‘Rowghani’, ‘Dusti’, ‘Tokhmekabki’, ‘Konservalia’ and ‘Amigdalolia’) were investigated. Extracts of the leaves and the base of the cuttings were used for analysis of biochemical compounds. Results showed that there were significant differences ...

Genetic variation in rooting ability of loblolly pine cuttings: effects of auxin and family on rooting by hypocotyl cuttings.

After about 20 days, hypocotyl cuttings from 20-day-old loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) seedlings rooted easily in the presence of the auxin indole-3-butyric acid (IBA), with roots forming directly from xylem parenchyma. In contrast, woody cuttings from 1-2-year-old hedged seedlings formed roots indirectly from callus tissue in 60-90 days, but IBA had little effect on rooting. Variation in rooti...

Mist, substrate water potential and cutting water potential influence rooting of stem cuttings of loblolly pine.

We investigated the influence of cutting water potential (Psicut) on rooting of juvenile hardwood (dormant) and softwood (succulent) stem cuttings of loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) propagated under varying substrate water potentials (Psisub) and volumes of mist application. Mist treatment and Psisub contributed to the Psicut of unrooted stem cuttings. When Psisub was held constant across mist t...
